1st day with no soda, second attempt

Okay, so I am trying the no drinking soda thing again. Last time I went for about 2 to three months. Well just recently at book club we were discussing this topic and they claim that in order to really see a difference you have to go for 16 weeks. So I am committing to 20 weeks that is 5 months. I did see some good stuff come from my last attempt. I just felt better and I stopped having head aches after the first week and a half. When I took up drinking soda this last time again the head aches came back so you would think that would make me stop but no I just love it. So starting today I am committing to 20 weeks no soda. So far not caffeine headache yet.

The second thing that came up in conversation is the eating out thing. Lets just say there should be a sign hanging in my kitchen that says "The only reason I have a kitchen is.........because it came with the house. I have also decided to start cooking at home again. So I took Mitch we me to the grocery store yesterday and we filled up three carts and spent just over $700.00 dollars. We really had nothing at home except cereal and lunch stuff. It has been so long sense we have eaten dinner at home. Except on Sundays of course. I did cook dinner last night and it felt really good to know we were eating something healthy and good for us. I am pretty educated about what I should be eating so when we eat at home we eat healthy food that is good for us.

The third thing that was discussed was the 100 mile bike ride which okay lets not talk about that. I am still thinking about this one. It is not until June but I think I need to decided fast.

Anyway I just thought I would mention this stuff on my blog so I would stay more accountable and have to answer to people.

Well anyway I do not have any pictures for this post just a lot of talk. Sorry!!!! Also I am not an English major so don't ever expect my posts to be up to that standard.

Are you seriously going to do the bike ride? My butt hurts from sitting outside carving pumpkins, I don't think I can handle a little hard cycle seat.

I am so proud of you Heather! For the no soda thing...if you can do 5 months I think it could be a permanent thing if you wanted it. Have you read the Twilight books? I just finished them. I started and read the series in 13 days. I just loved them! So sad I am done. You are making me think of what I need to change in my life...nahhh.

Way to go Heather. I'm not really a soda fan. I drink it once in a while, but usually lemonade or water. I've recently started drinking more milk too. I've never drank milk cause it just reminds me of elementary frozen rotten milk. It ruined me for life. I usually have at least a glass a day, but the not so good part is that it usually includes oreo cookies with it. LOL

Woo Hoo a fellow Soda-Holic going dry. Should we start SA meetings. :) It does get easier I only dream of soda every other day instead of every day. As for the 100 mile bike ride. You are so in! :) Good luck with everything.

Holy Cow GIRL!!! Those are some pretty major and lofty goals to set all at the same time! More power to you! I would have loved to see your shopping carts. I have never even come close to spending $700.00 at one time in a grocery store. That's almost my house payment!!! I wish you luck on all of them. I'm not going soda dry, but I'm cutting back, yesterday I only had 1 Diet Coke instead of 3. :)

Hey, Heather! That is great you are doing that. I wish you the best of luck. I have a hard time avoiding chocolate. :) Anyway, I think that is great. Good luck!

Way to go Heather! You'll have to let me know how you fit in the bike riding with four kids. I have a hard time exercising with mine. Good luck with your goals!
